Detailed review of 1403 Collector
I recently purchased the 1403 Collector chest in Maple. The ordering process on their website was straightforward, though I did spend some time deciding between the wood types. I appreciated the clear product photos. Shipping took a little longer than expected, about 8 business days to reach my location in Florida, but the chest was extremely well-protected in its packaging, with no dents or scratches whatsoever. Upon unboxing, the craftsmanship was evident. The joinery is clean, and the finish on the maple is smooth and even. The drawers slide easily, and the lock mechanism feels secure. I did notice a very slight inconsistency in the alignment of one of the internal drawer dividers, but it's purely cosmetic and doesn't affect functionality. For the price, the quality is impressive, and it feels like an heirloom piece. Customer service was responsive when I inquired about tracking an update. Nice chest, good experience
So, I finally pulled the trigger on one of these, got myself a 1805 Retro in Maple. It's pretty sweet, looks good on my workbench. Ordering was easy enough, and it showed up about a week later. The wood feels really nice, way better than those cheap metal ones. I wish the felt in one of the drawers was a little tighter, but it's not a big deal. Overall, pretty happy with it.
Reliable as always
This is my third purchase from Gerstner, a 2007 Classic in Oak. I've always been impressed with their quality and consistency. My first chest, a 2610 Journeyman, still looks great after years of use. This new one is just as good; the finish is perfect and the hardware feels sturdy. Shipping took about 6 days to get to me in Oregon, which is typical for them. They package things really well, so no damage, ever. It's why I keep coming back.

I just received my 2613 Master Craftsman in Cherry and I absolutely love it! The wood is beautiful and all the drawers glide so smoothly. This chest is even better in person than the pictures showed. I can tell it's going to last forever. I will definitely be back for more items for my workshop!
